The Godfather
by Simon
By Mario Puzo
I read this for some light relief.
To start with I was worried the characters would be two-dimensional, like a Frederick Forsyth novel.
As time went on, they became slightly more complex - even though the emphasis was on plot.
The book was full of bits of insight into machievellian-style maneouvers - but I think Machievelli might be a better place to find this described.
I was surprised how close the film was to the book - usually a film drops a lot of what a book contains.
The plot and characters were the same, it was just some of the detail that was dropped.
